Only yards from Forss House lies the River Forss.
Forss House Fishings is a time share on the Forss River comprising four, two rod beats over 3 ½ miles of the northerly-lower stretch of this typical spate river.
94 members share some 240 rod weeks, some of which are almost always available for weekly or daily rental in their owner's absence. Beat two of the fishings, lies immediately below the hotel
The largest fish ever caught on the river was a cock fish of 42lbs landed in 1954. The Hotel bar hosts an impressive carving of this fish, which was caught at the foot of the garden. In recent years, fishing on the river has improved significantly and fish in the 15-20lb range have been taken. The 2010 season was the best ever with 431 fish caught, beating the previous record set, only three years ago, by 125 fish.
