Forss House Hotel, Adventure Surfing - Thurso East holds the annual O'Neill Highland Open

There are several good spots stretching from Dunnet Bay across to Strathy along the north Highlands coast.

Thurso East is well known to surfers all over the world. It regularly appears in magazines internationally and was recently voted in the top 10 waves in Europe. Add to that a small extremely friendly group of local surfers who make it a pleasant place to be at low tide and you've got a great surfing experience. Best conditions are with southerly swell and low-mid tide. The location is a six star competition venue on the world qualifying circuit with the annual O'Neill Highland Open taking place in April.
