Inverness Castle

Start your NC500 journey at the iconic Inverness Castle, situated in the heart of the city. This 19th-century red sandstone structure offers panoramic views of Inverness and the surrounding area. While the castle itself is not open to the public, you can still enjoy the stunning exterior and the lovely Castle Hill gardens.

Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle

No trip to the Highlands is complete without a visit to the mysterious Loch Ness. Keep an eye out for Nessie, the legendary Loch Ness Monster, as you explore the picturesque shoreline. Don’t forget to stop at the majestic ruins of Urquhart Castle, perched on the loch edge, for a glimpse into Scotland's mediaeval past.
